Yuvraj’s personal information::

Yuvraj Singh, who is known match winner in Indian cricket team was born on December 12 1981 in his home town Chandigarh, India. His father Yograj Singh is great movie star of Punjabi films and also a former Indian fast bowler. His father thought him to make a good fast bowler like him, but he became hard hitter batsman. He started playing cricket from his small age itself.

Starting from his carrier::

Yuvraj played his first One Day International match against Kenya, after performing so brilliantly in under-19 world cup. He was selected into Indian team under the basis of Under-19 world cup performance, which won by Indian team under the captaincy of Mohammad Kaif. He played very seriously when he named captain of under-19 Punjab cricket team, when he scored massive 358 runs, and then he was picked for ICC Knock out Trophy, where Indian team lifted runners up Trophy. During his starting career his performance was so good that he showed his aggressive batting in second match in the same tournament playing against Australia by smashing 84runs of only 82 balls against high quality pace attack like Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee, though India could not win that trophy but won the match, but he made his mark by performing good. Later he performed brilliantly in Sri Lanka also.

One of the greatest innings he could not forget in his life time is when he played in Natwest series against England in July 2002. England put 324 runs of huge target against India in that final, where India has good start at the beginning but, later the wickets were trembling like cards, the score was 135/5 when sachin left the crease. And then Yuvraj came and at the other end his Under-19 captain Mohammad Kaif was batting, they both put on huge partnership which helped India to victory. After that he became match winner for Indian Cricket Team. Whenever he goes for batting he would take the match into his hands and comeback. He scored his first century against Bangladesh in 2003, but his best came against Australia when India played against Australia in Australia at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). Yuvraj smashed the Australian bowlers all over the park he scored 139runs of only 119balls. His next crucial hundred (110 0f 114balls) came against West Indies where India was in immense pressure in the last match of the round robin league. He named as the “Man of the Series” in 3 consecutive series against South Africa, Pakistan and England in the late 2005 and early 2006, in which Yuvraj scored 3centuries and 4fifties in about 15matches he played. In September 2007 he was named as vice captain of Indian Cricket Team after the resignation of Rahul Dravid with Mahendra Singh Dhoni naming as a Captain. He performed brilliantly when India played Pakistan in India in November 2007. Yuvraj smashed 4fifties in a five match series against Pakistan and he also named the “Man of the Series”. After playing decent Knocks in ODI’s, he was not regular player in Test Cricket, he would replace if someone injures. He made his Test debut playing against New Zealand in his home town in late 2003 replacing Sourav Ganguly position, and could not cement his place in Test squad. Yuvraj has 3centuries and 3fifties in his Test Account and all his 3 centuries are against Pakistan. First (112runs) came in 2004 at “Gaddafi Stadium” (Lahore, Pakistan), second (122runs) was in 2006 at “National Stadium” (Karachi, Pakistan) and final one (169runs) which is his career best was in 2007 (Bangalore, India)…

Yuvraj in T20 World cup::

When Yuvraj named vice captain of Indian Cricket Team after the resignation of Rahul Dravid he was pumped up. As he was hard hitter batsman he was included in the T20 world cup squad. Before the tournament started they toured England and lost 7match series by 4-3. In the 5th match of that series Yuvraj bowled last over of that match, their he was smashed by England batsman Mascaraneus for 5sixes in 6 balls he could not digest that moment. On September12 T20 World cup has started, at the beginning stage Yuvraj’s did not perform up to his mark, but on September 19, 2007 they played against England it was Do or Die situation for Indian team to qualify for semis, it was about 17th over of the match where Yuvraj was on the strike, the bowler was Stuart Broad, the over before there was a little conversation between Flintoff and Yuvraj. He removed his Flintoff’s anger on Stuart Broad by smashing him 6sixes in 6balls and he made fastest ever fifty in T20 game off just only 12balls and also the fastest in any form of International Cricket. India qualified for semis and also won the final of the tournament against Pakistan to lift the magical Trophy.
